Kat grew up in Duluth, MN and is returning to her roots. Duluth values and strength are what Kat’s Eyes Optical is all about.

While coming up in Optical, from apprenticeship, at Mid West Vision, to Master Optician in Phoenix, AZ is no easy task, Kat excelled and achieved her American Board of Opticianry License in only two years as opposed to the normal three. While practicing in Minneapolis, Kat had the privilege of working at inVision and created many one of a kind frames with custom coloring. Now frames come in many colors and customization is now done in the lenses.

While living in Phoenix, AZ Kat made sure she got Licensed by the State so she could continue to ply her trade. With an Arizona License, Opticians are required to maintain Continuing Education classes. In Phoenix, she worked for Ophthalmologists and an Optical Lab. The optical lab is where Kat excelled. She learned more about lenses, how they are made, what materials work best, and most importantly, how a pair of lenses should be when placed into the frame. Lenses are the most important part of a pair of Eyeglasses; after all they are what we “see” through. 

While at the Lab, Kat became certified to teach Continuing Education Classes. For you, this means that Kat has to be constantly learning. Kat is also published at least 10 times a year in an international Trade Magazine, Vision Care Product News. This has enabled Kat to meet many other Optical professionals across the country.

Kat has loved and enjoyed Optical since the day she started and it is evident in each and every pair of glasses that she dispenses.
